Our Irish Sea is a wonderful place

Beneath the surface there are vast undersea landscapes and diverse communities of marine life. Deep muddy plains support creatures from angular crabs to delicate sea pens, plaice and whiting, seabirds, seals, whales, dolphins and sharks.

However, our Irish Sea wildlife is under threat from damaging fishing activities, marine litter, climate change and developments and we need your help to take action.

We are making a difference

Over the past decade, we have worked tirelessly to urge Government to develop a network of protected areas to safeguard our seas. We have showcased just how special our seas are, to inspire the next generation to look after our precious coasts and seas.

There is still so much to do

There are six more Marine Conservation Zones we want to see designated. We need to keep fighting to secure this further protection of our seas, gathering scientific evidence in support. We want inspire people to provide a wave of protection for our seas. Now is the time when our seas need us the most.

Sir David Attenborough

We are now at a unique stage in our history. Never before have we had such an awareness of what we are doing to the planet and never before have we had the power to do something about that. Surely we have a responsibility to care for our blue planet? The future of all life on Earth now depends on us.

Our local Blue Planet

Like Sir David, we believe that it is within our power to protect our precious seas. Our funding sources are in huge decline and the future of our North West Living Seas Project is now under threat. Lancashire Wildlife Trust needs your help to raise £20,000 to continue our work in Lancashire and North Merseyside to protect the future of our Irish Sea and continue to be a strong voice in the national campaign. Your donation will be used to unlock further funding to secure the future of our Irish Sea and coastline.

Please take the power into your own hands by making a donation today!
